Inclusive swimming programmes

Our extensive Swimming pathway aims to provide high quality inclusive swimming experience for children and adults with all types of disabilities in safe, supportive and friendly environments.

Our close links with Swim Wales the aim is to further develop children (able bodied and disabled) and identifying swimmers who wish to further their swimming journey by competing in all types of competitions should they wish.

Learn to swim programme

All our swimming programmes are fully inclusive and accessible for both able bodied and disabled swimmers across our ‘learn to swim’ programme.

SPLASH programme – introduces babies from 3months and toddlers to fun water activities.  There are 6 stages in the splash programme.

WAVE programme – teaches children 4 years plus the necessary swimming and aquatic skills to swim.  They are also taught vital water safety skills so they learn to be safe in and around the water. There are 8 stages in the wave programme.

Progress tracking

Our Aqua passport online tool helps you track your child’s progress in the pool.  Once registered, you’ll be able to log in and access information directly from your swimming instructor.

Adult swimming lessons

We also run weekly swimming lessons for adult of all abilities from non-swimmers to those who are looking to improve their technique. A member of our team will be able to give you advice on which lesson would suit your needs.

If you or your child would like to learn to swim all you need to do is contact us via email and make us aware of which leisure centre you are interested in actifsirgar@carmarthenshire.gov.uk
